The Small Print This is the page where we address some of the other questions you might have. Confidentiality We appreciate that you are inviting us into your home. The Natural Energy Company is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards and operating ethically. We wish to assure you that we request access for the sole purpose of gathering data relevant to the survey only and that this data and any other exchange of information will remain completely confidential. contact us Insurance All our surveyors and assessors are fully insured with Third Party Liability. A copy of the Certificate of Insurance is available on request. contact us Data protection We gather information both in written and electronic formats. This information is stored for the sole purpose of collating the survey. The Natural Energy Company reserves the right to maintain a copy of this survey in additions to any supporting information such as infra-red photographs. This information is available to view on request. The Natural Energy Company has a policy of not maintaining unnecessary data for longer than is necessary to produce the report. Copies of any certificates issued are also sent to National Energy Services, the governing body of the NHER, where they are used to enhance the accuracy of the computer modelling system and to ensure that quality standards are maintained. You name will not appear on the certificate, but your address will as the certificate is unique to a particular property. contact us What we don't do We will make a survey of those parts of the property that are accessible without risk of damage to the property or injury to the surveyor. Due care is exercised throughout the visit regarding practicality, safety and the constraints of being a visitor. We will not move furniture, floor coverings or general household belongings to gain access for inspection. This also applies to loft spaces and cellars, which will be inspected where practicable. contact us Recommendations & cost savings Your survey report will contain a number of recommendations, along with estimated cost savings, for further action. These are subjective and have been calculated based on the information available. It is important to realise that these recommendations have been made based upon the information available and that no guarantee can be given based on incomplete or inaccurate information. Where a surveyor is unable to view a particular part of a property, or is unsure of the construction, type or the like, then he or she will make an assumption; generally this will downgrade the quality and accuracy of the information. contact us Survey ownership The ownership of the survey will pass to you on receipt of full payment. The Natural Energy Company reserves the right to use or access any of the information within to improve its service and general knowledge, though we will do this without identifying either the property or the owner (unless prior permission has been obtained). Furthermore, we reserve the right to use images or collective data for marketing purposes unless you notify us accordingly. We advise that the survey and any associated certification remain with the house in the event that you move houses. contact us Behaviour It is important to recognise that behaviour plays an important part in energy efficiency. A car with a published economy of 35 mpg will do much less if it is driven hard. The computer modelling that is used to calculate your NHER rating makes certain assumptions about how you use your house. These have been calculated from many years of research and are well-proven. There are occasions where an occupier's behaviour or living patterns may differ from the norm and these will be discussed when the surveyor visits. Furthermore, any significant departures form the standard behaviour, e.g. leaving televisions on in every room or having the internal temperature at 25 degrees Celsius, may again cause inaccuracies. The Natural Energy Company accepts no responsibility for data inaccuracies caused by undeclared behavioural patterns. contact us Limitations Your survey is an accurate statement about the energy usage of your home on the day it was done. We are unable to produce certificates for incomplete or planned building works or amendments to the fabric, heating or other such changes to the building. That said, we are able to discuss how such planned changes are likely to affect the rating of your home; we are just legally unable to issue the certificate! We are not builders, chartered surveyors, property valuers or the like and are unable to act in this capacity. We are professionally trained and accredited energy assessors and consider ourselves to be highly knowledgeable in our field. If we do not know the answer to a question we will say so and we will seek to gain the answer elsewhere or to advise you accordingly. contact us Quality Our quality is governed by our own internal Quality Assurance system. We are also externally approved through our membership of National Energy Services (ISO 9000) and we adhere to their rigid code of practice. if you are unhappy at any time with the service or information that you receive from The Natural Energy Company, please tell us.
