Thermal Imaging...
Thermal Imaging (TI) technology is well proven and has been used by the emergency services and military for many years. However it is relatively new to the building industry and the potential of this application is now really proving its worth.
The TI cameras that we use are sensitive down to 0.1 degree Celsius. This high degree of accuracy, combined with a measured and professional approach, allow us to see what the naked eye cannot. TI can typically pick up:
Leakages around doors and windows
Inefficient windows, e.g. double glazing past its best
Heat loss through floors
Inadequate loft insulation
Inefficient radiators
Wall cold spots, being an early indicator of damp or mildew
Potentially leaky flat roofs
Heat loss through or around brick work or doors
What next?..
The Thermal Imaging service is offered as part of our standard Energy Survey. This survey will highlight areas for improvement that will reduce the amount of money you spend on energy in your home.
The survey will tell you what you need to do next. It will prioritise the issues and provide generic advice on what aspects are likely to save you money. It will also advise on energy-saving behaviour in the home.
